One of the best, most exciting things about “back to school” for kids is the new backpack filled with the exciting, but familiar smells and feel of the “must haves” their teacher requested to start the adventure of the next grade!

For kindergartners, this is especially true.  But, sadly, not all families can afford a new, filled backpack for their kids.  Through funded preschool programs for children, teachers/staff identify families who could use some help to ensure their children get the best possible start to their new school experience. These children can be referred to The Sunflower Foundation, which provides a new backpack filled with the specific teacher recommended list for that child, along with a new pair of sneakers!

The Sunflower Foundation is a non-profit organization supported by donations and founded by a teacher actively involved with low income/high risk preschoolers and their families, who recognized the need for this “boost” to ensure those kids get a great start on their educational path.  Her goal is to gradually increase the number of children The Sunflower Foundation supports.

We also have a Holiday Wish program that we do for our families in December.

Our Mission:

To help and support children and their families build a foundation required to ensure a successful education and future.

Who we are:
